Public Art Installation for DTEK, Kontraktova Square, Kyiv, 2024

Port of Culture developed the creative concept — proposing the idea of using a real, destroyed transformer as a symbol of national resilience. Orest — a transformer that operated for 50 years at a DTEK thermal power plant before being hit by a Russian missile, burning for hours, and rendered irreparable — became the centrepiece of the public installation on Kyiv's Kontraktova Square.

Port of Culture created the visual language and storytelling for the installation, and introduced an interactive gesture of solidarity: wristbands labelled with Ukrainian oblast names that visitors hung on the transformer. The team coordinated with DTEK, the Ministry of Energy, Kyiv City Administration, and Gres Todorchuk agency.
